At Pilot & Index Mining Solutions (PIMS), a mining consulting firm, our strength lies in the expertise and dedication of our founder, Jason Todd, PG. With 30 years of boots-on-the-ground experience in mine planning and geologic evaluation, Jason has worked on projects across North America, helping clients navigate the complexities of exploration, permitting, and resource development at all levels. At Mineral Hill Mine, on the border of Yellowstone National Park, Jason got his start in the industry as a mine geologist. Fully hooked on gold mining, and the realities of $250 gold, led him to work in gold mines in Ontario and Manitoba. After several years of Canadian Shield immersion he returned home to Montana to the Stillwater Complex. At Stillwater he transitioned into engineering roles, starting with ventilation then planning and budgeting. An opportunity arose to lead the design and planning of multiple operations for a start up oil production company. During this time he led multiple screening, design, PFS studies, and finally the construction of three underground oil production facilities. A return to conventional mining by way of consulting led to many studies from small trade-offs to feasibility level efforts, physical inspections, and project management opportunities on projects from Mexico to Alaska and the Yukon.
